Independent since 2024
An independent guide to what trekking in Nepal costs.
We started this because every site said something different, and none of them showed their working. So we keep the receipts, and publish them.

Why we started.
What we promise
- Every figure has a receipt, a notice or a written quote behind it
- Every figure is dated, and flagged when it is overdue
- Mistakes are corrected in public, with who told us
- Nothing on this site is paid for by the places it names
Every site said something different
Planning our own Everest trek in 2023, we found four different prices for the same park permit, none of them dated. Agencies quoted what suited them, and blogs repeated each other.
So we kept the receipts
We started photographing everything we paid for, and asking other trekkers to do the same. Two seasons later, there are over a thousand receipts behind this site.
Who it is for
People planning their own trek, the week before they book: what will it cost, what do I need, and who should I believe.

How we’re funded.
Readers, and a small affiliate commission on gear and insurance. Never the trekking businesses we write about.
